The idea of introducing Japanese cuisine and merging it with Aussie tastes inspired a new business to emerge. From this idea a small restaurant called Tokyo Ramen opened in 2002. This restaurant, located at Hornsby, serves Japanese noodle and take away food. With the success of Tokyo Ramen, the idea of expanding their horizons to sushi came along. This idea soon sprouted to become 5 Tokyo Sushi stores around Sydney in 2003-2005.

Our success is not out of the blue. The founders have a strong background in the Japanese food industry. Kiyoshi Hasegawa is the second generation to run Japanese Ramen shops. Her father had been making Japanese Ramen for more than 30 years in Japan and is currently responsible for the daily supervision of Japanese Ramen in Sydney. William Ye spent more than 5 years in Japan studying the art of Japanese food. They are all very passionate about providing the best Japanese food for their Australian customers.
